Stripe payments
Connect Stripe once at the account level, either through a Mercleo-managed account or your own, to accept paid tickets across every event you run.
Events, and every other Mercleo product that takes money, connects to Stripe through one shared Payments page at the account level. You set it up once, not per event: every paid ticket type across your workspace uses that same connection.
Two ways to connect
Open Payments from your Mercleo Account, not from inside an event. If you've never used Stripe before, Mercleo can create and manage the account for you. If you already have one, connect it directly instead:
| Feature | New to Stripe | Already use Stripe |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe account | We create + manage one for you | Your existing account |
| Setup | Short hosted form, about 5 minutes | Sign in with Stripe, instant |
| Dashboard | Express dashboard | Full Stripe dashboard |
| Refunds + disputes | Via Mercleo or Stripe | Via Stripe directly |
| Mercleo fee | 3% on Free, 0% on Pro | 0% |
| Plan required | None | Events Pro |
Connecting your own Stripe account requires Events Pro. On the Payments page, that option carries a Pro badge and its button reads Upgrade to Pro until your workspace is entitled.
Connection states
- Not connected: no Stripe account is linked. Paid ticket types can't be created.
- In progress: Stripe is still reviewing the account or waiting on more information. The Payments page shows a Continue Stripe setup link back to Stripe's form.
- Connected: ready to accept charges. The Payments page shows the connected account's ID, whether it's Standard (your Stripe) or Express (Mercleo-managed), and your current Mercleo fee.
Mercleo fees
Mercleo deducts its fee from each paid registration automatically: 3% on the Free plan through Stripe Express, 0% on Pro either way you connect. Stripe's own processing fees are separate and come off before payout, regardless of which way you connect.
Disconnecting
Use the Disconnect button on the Payments page. A confirmation prompt guards against doing it by accident. Existing completed payments aren't affected: the funds stay in your Stripe account and pay out on Stripe's normal schedule.
