Communication

Attendee messages

Attendees can message you directly about their registration from their portal, and you answer from the event's Messages inbox, with email notifications on both sides.

Events gives attendees a direct line to you. From their portal, an attendee can send a message about their registration, and it lands in the event's Messages inbox for you to answer. Your reply reaches the attendee by email, and the inbox itself updates live for you and any teammate who has it open, no refresh needed.

Where you find it

Open the event and go to Messages, under Communication in the sidebar, next to Announcements, Reminders, and Surveys.

Where threads come from

Attendees write from Support in their portal. Events opens one thread per attendee, per event: their first message creates it, and every later message from either side reuses the same thread.

Each row in the inbox shows a preview of the latest message, whether it's unread, and how many messages the thread has. Opening a thread also shows the attendee's history across your organization: how many events they've registered for, and their most recent registrations, so you have context before you reply.

Replying

Open a thread, type your reply, and send it. That marks the thread read for you and unread for the attendee, and emails the attendee your reply with a link back to Support in their portal.

If more than one teammate might answer the same event, Take a thread to put a soft claim on it: other operators see it's assigned to you. Release it when you're done. The claim is advisory only, an unassigned thread is labelled "anyone can reply," and taking a thread doesn't stop someone else from replying to it too.

Email notifications

When an attendee sends a message, you're notified by email at your workspace's organization contact address, when one is set for your account.

When you reply, the attendee is emailed too, with your reply and a link back into their portal.

Who can see the inbox

By default, only operators with dashboard access. You can also mint an Inbox-only Cockpit link so someone helping on the day, a volunteer or floor staff, can open the Messages inbox from their phone without an operator seat. From Operations, open the event's card and choose Share Cockpit link…, then pick the Inbox-only role.
