Manual registrations
Issue tickets from the back office without sending an attendee through public checkout: comp lists, phone signups, offline payments, and sponsor blocks all go through the Manual Registration modal.
The Manual Registration button on the Attendees toolbar registers an attendee without sending them through your public registration form. Use it for comp lists, phone signups, offline payments, and sponsor ticket blocks.
Contact, track, and ticket selection
Contact: search your workspace's existing contacts by name or email (results appear after two characters), or fill in First name, Last name, Email, and Phone to create a new one. Email is required.
Track: visible only when the event has registration paths. Selecting a track filters the ticket types and price tiers shown below to mirror what buyers see on that path. When the event has exactly one path, it's pre-selected.
Ticket selection: quantity steppers per ticket type. When the event has price tiers, a per-type tier picker appears as soon as you set a quantity above zero, and you must pick a tier for each tiered type before you can submit.
Payment modes
Once you've selected at least one ticket, the Payment section appears with three options:
- Comp tickets: no payment required. Tickets are confirmed immediately, and the totals block shows a Comp override line crediting the full subtotal.
- Already paid offline: records the registration as paid without charging through Stripe. Use this for bank transfer, cash, or any other out-of-band payment.
- Send payment link: generates a Stripe Checkout session. Tickets aren't released until Stripe confirms payment.
Choosing Already paid offline or Send payment link reveals a Tax-exempt checkbox, for registrations you don't want to charge tax on, such as a tax-exempt organization. Comp tickets have no tax to exempt.
Block assignment for multi-ticket comps
When you issue more than one ticket, a Block assignment checkbox appears, checked by default. With it checked, the first ticket is confirmed under the contact's name; the rest are left unclaimed and appear in that person's portal as needing action.
The contact can then claim each unclaimed ticket themselves or transfer it to someone else through their portal. This is the shape for a sponsor who receives six tickets and needs to distribute them across their team. Uncheck the box to confirm every ticket under the same contact instead.
Email notification options
For comp and offline-paid registrations, choose one of three email modes:
- Send confirmation invitation: emails a magic link into the attendee portal. The default for comped registrations.
- Send final confirmation: sends the standard post-registration confirmation email with QR codes for check-in. Use this when the attendee doesn't need to claim or fill in ticket details.
- Don't send email: creates the registration silently, for when you're contacting the attendee out of band.
Choosing Send payment link as the payment mode swaps these for a two-option choice: email the Stripe Checkout link, or don't send.
Internal notes
An Internal notes field sits at the bottom of the modal. Use it to record why the ticket was comped or who approved it, for your own records; the registrant never sees it.
What the attendee receives
When you choose Send confirmation invitation, the attendee receives an email with a magic link. Clicking it signs them into their portal, no password required, whether they're new to Mercleo or already have an account.
In their portal, tickets appear grouped under the event. Any ticket left unclaimed by a block assignment shows "Nobody has claimed this yet" with a Complete button; clicking it lets the attendee fill in that seat's details, or they can transfer the ticket to someone else instead.
