Agreements

Agreements let you list the documents a mentorship participant should sign: a code of conduct, a waiver, or a program contract. You add each one on a program's Agreements tab, write the text inline or link out to a hosted document, and choose who it applies to and whether signing is required.

Opening the Agreements tab

Agreements live inside a single program. Open the program and switch to its Agreements section. Agreements is part of the Mentorship module, so it appears only when Mentorship is enabled for your account.

Adding an agreement

Fill in the New agreement form at the top of the tab, then click Add agreement. The button stays disabled until the title field has text. The form has these fields:

  • Title: the agreement's name (for example, a code of conduct). Required. The title is the one field the form will not submit without, and the underlying validation message is "Give the agreement a title."
  • The body text area: the agreement text shown to the participant. Optional; leave it empty if you are linking out to a document instead.
  • Document URL: an optional link to a hosted PDF or external document. Use this when the agreement is a file rather than text typed into the body.
  • Applies to: the role the agreement targets: Both (the default), Mentees, or Mentors.
  • Required: a switch, on by default. A required, unsigned agreement shows the participant a banner in their portal asking them to sign it; nothing else in the portal is blocked while it's outstanding. Turn it off to make the agreement optional and skip the banner.

After you add an agreement, the title, body, and Document URL fields clear so you can enter the next one. The Applies to and Required controls keep their last selection. A new agreement defaults to Both and required.

Reading the agreement list

Below the form, each agreement appears as a row showing its title. A required chip appears next to the title when the agreement is required. To the right of the title, the row shows the role it applies to and its version number, for example both · v1.

Every agreement starts at version v1. When someone signs, their signature snapshots the version that was in effect, so a signature stays tied to the exact wording the participant agreed to.

Participants sign in the Agreements section of their portal, where they read the agreement text (or open the document link), check a box, and select Sign agreement.

Removing an agreement

Click the trash icon on an agreement row to remove it. The agreement disappears from the list, but the removal is a soft delete: the record is hidden rather than erased, so any signatures already collected against it remain in the underlying audit trail.
