Form types
Form types are reusable labels you create to classify the forms Marketing detects on your sites. Manage them under Lead settings, then apply them to individual forms to keep your catalog organized.
Form types are named labels you create once and apply to any form Marketing detects, a way to group forms like Newsletter or Demo request. You manage the list of types on the Lead settings page, then assign a type to a form from its detail page. Classifying a form is a labeling step only; it does not change how, or whether, that form captures contacts.
Creating a form type
Open Lead settings. In the Form types card, type a label into the New form type… field and click Add (or press Enter). A name is required and is limited to 100 characters. If you submit a blank name, Marketing responds "Enter a name."
The create form asks only for a name. New types are added to the list right away, and the list is sorted alphabetically.
Suggested types
Below the input, a Suggestions row offers a set of common labels you can add in a single click: Mailing list signup, Contact us, Demo request, Newsletter, and Event registration. Clicking a suggestion adds it as a type right away. A suggestion disappears from the row once a type with that name exists, so the list only ever shows labels you have not added yet.
Renaming and deleting
Each type in the list has a pencil icon to rename it and a trash icon to delete it. Click the pencil to edit the name inline, then click Save. Renaming a type carries through everywhere it is applied; forms already classified with it keep the classification under the new name. The same uniqueness rule applies, so you cannot rename a type to a name another type already uses.
Click the trash icon to delete a type. A confirmation dialog titled "Delete form type?" explains the effect: "Forms classified with this type become unclassified. Capture settings are unaffected." Confirm with Delete. Any form that carried the deleted type is detached from it and shown as Unclassified afterward; the forms themselves and their capture configuration are left untouched.
Applying a type to a form
You assign a type from a form's detail page, not from this settings page. Open a form under Lead forms and find the Classification & capture card. The Form type dropdown lists every type you have created, plus an Unclassified option that leaves the form without a type. If you have not created any types yet, the dropdown shows a note: "Create form types under Leads → Settings to organize your forms."
Once a form has a type, the catalog shows that type as a badge in the Type column. Forms with no type show an Unclassified badge instead. To find forms still waiting on a label, switch the catalog toggle from All to Unclassified, which also shows a running count of how many remain.
