Hiring overview

The HR module runs a hire from a published job posting through to a completed onboarding checklist. You post a role, applicants apply on your careers site, and you review and score them before sending an offer. The candidate signs it, and approving that signed offer creates the new hire's employee record and starts their onboarding.

Hiring is a module you turn on for your workspace. It sits alongside the core People area, which handles ongoing employee records, time off and your org chart once someone is hired.

The four stages

  • Job postings: build a role with a title, location, employment type and compensation range, then publish it to your careers site.
  • Applications: applicants apply, move through your pipeline stages and can be scored for both submission quality and fit against the role.
  • Offers: once you mark an applicant Hired, send a contract built from a template. The candidate signs electronically, and you give the final approval.
  • Onboarding: your new hire works through a checklist of tasks, forms, uploads and policy acknowledgements before their start date.

The moment a candidate becomes an employee

A candidate signing their offer is not the moment they become an employee. That happens when you give the offer your final approval. Approving a signed offer creates the new hire's employee record, assigns them to their team and queues their onboarding for their start date.

From there, day-to-day employee management, such as their profile, time off and place on your org chart, lives in the People area of your workspace, not in the HR module.
