Publishing

A course has no page in the portal until you publish it. Publishing is where you set who can find the course and confirm it's ready, from the Publish section of the course sidebar.

The page is split in two: a readiness checklist on the left, and visibility, enrollment, and the publish control on the right.

The readiness checklist

A free course needs one thing: at least one item in its curriculum. A paid course adds four more checks:

• Enrollment is set to Open, not By request. A paid course can't be enrolled by request.
• A price is set.
• Tax is configured for the account.
• A refund policy is set.
• A Stripe account is connected for the account.

The Publish button stays disabled until every row is checked. The checklist mirrors the same check the Publish action runs when you confirm, so nothing you see here can pass locally and fail on the server.

Visibility and enrollment

Visibility decides whether the course has a page in the portal catalog at all: Portal lists it there; Unlisted keeps it out of the catalog, reachable only for the people you enroll directly.

Enrollment mode decides what happens when someone finds a Portal course: Open lets them enroll themselves immediately; By request lets anyone see the course, but each enrollment holds for your approval. An unlisted course has no public page to request from, so enrollment mode only matters for Portal courses. A paid course can only use Open.

Publish and revert

Once the checklist is clean, Publish course asks you to confirm what becomes visible, then makes the course live. Published courses get a Preview link on the course list that opens the course's real portal page in a new tab; a draft has no such link, because there's nowhere for it to point yet.

A published course can be reverted to draft from the same page. Reverting pulls its page from the portal; anyone already enrolled keeps their enrollment.
