Progress
A course's Progress page is a matrix: one row per enrolled learner, one column per item across the course's modules. It answers the question you get asked most about a course: who has finished what.
Items marked with an asterisk are required. A learner's course is only marked complete once every required item shows done for them; optional items never block completion.
Reading and editing a cell
A filled cell means that learner has completed that item. Click any cell to toggle it: mark it complete, or clear a completion that was recorded in error. Clearing an item does not reopen a course that has already been marked complete overall, which the last section on this page covers.
Where a completion comes from
A completed item carries one of three sources: the learner marked it done themselves in the portal, you marked it done from this matrix, or, for a live session item, it came from event check-in. Hovering a completed cell shows which.
Live sessions complete from event check-in, not a click
When a course item is a live session tied to one of your events, a learner does not mark it done themselves. It completes when they check in at the event, which Mercleo matches against the course roster and records automatically. A double-check icon on the cell marks a completion that came from check-in this way, distinct from a manual mark.
Only learners who are actively enrolled in the course get matched this way. If someone checks in at the event before you have enrolled them in the course, their attendance will not retroactively complete the item until they are on the roster.
Course completion is one-way
Once every required item is complete, Mercleo marks the enrolment Completed automatically on the Enrollments page. That happens the moment the last required item is checked, whether it was checked by the learner, by you, or by check-in reconciliation. A course with no required items never completes this way: it is treated as browse-only content.
Completion is treated as a recorded fact. Clearing a required item afterward, or adding a new required item to the course later, does not reopen a learner's completed status. If you need someone to redo the course, withdraw and re-enroll them from the Enrollments page instead, which starts a fresh completion cycle.
