Certifications

Certifications lets you define a credential, such as a completion certificate or a safety badge, and issue it to the people who earn it. An issued credential is verifiable on its own: it carries a unique link anyone can check, independent of whether the learner still has portal access.

Create a credential template

A template defines what the credential is: a name, an optional description, and how long it stays valid in months, or no expiry at all. You can optionally link it to one of your published courses, which is what enables automatic issuance.

Each template has its own status: draft while you are still setting it up, active once it is live, or archived when you are done with it. Only an active template linked to a course is picked up by automatic issuance.

Automatic issuance on course completion

Once a template is active and linked to a course, you do not need to issue anything by hand. An automated job checks once an hour for enrolments that finished that course since the last check and issues each one a credential, skipping anyone who already holds a live credential from that template.

Issue a credential manually

Open the template and issue a credential to a specific contact directly. This works for a template that is not linked to any course, or to backdate a credential for something completed outside Mercleo entirely, such as an in-person workshop you tracked another way. Manual issuance is blocked only once a template is archived.

Revoke a credential

From a template's issued list, revoke a credential and optionally record why. A revoked credential still shows in the ledger and still resolves on its verify link, but as revoked rather than valid.

The issued ledger

Issued credentials lists every credential issued across the account, from every template, searchable by learner name. It is the place to look when you want a full record rather than one template's history.
