Getting started

Overview

Reach is the CRM workspace inside your Mercleo account: it opens straight onto your contacts list, with Deals, Workflows, and optional modules like Giving reached from the sidebar.

Reach is the CRM workspace inside your Mercleo account. You manage contacts and companies, run deals through a sales pipeline, and turn on extensions for other kinds of relationships, like donor management, as your workspace needs them. Opening Reach takes you straight to your contacts list; there's no separate landing dashboard.

How the workspace is laid out

Reach shares its outer chrome with every other Mercleo product. A rail of product tiles runs down the far left of the screen, one tile per product your workspace is entitled to: Vector, Events, Learning, Mentorship, Reach, Marketing, Analytics, Cadre, and Portal. Reach is a single tile in that rail, not a rail of its own.

Inside Reach, the sidebar beside the rail lists Reach's own modules as collapsible groups. Open a module (Contacts, for example) and it expands to that module's pages: All contacts, Lists, and Duplicates. The sidebar keeps whichever module you're currently in expanded.

A settings icon at the bottom of the rail opens Settings. There, the sidebar swaps from the module list to a grouped settings menu, and swaps back the moment you leave Settings.

The modules

Every Reach workspace sees Contacts and Companies regardless of which extensions you run, because both are views over the same contact data every module reads from. Deals and Workflows need the CRM module on your plan. Giving and Reports are newer modules Mercleo is rolling out account by account, so you may not see them yet even once your plan is ready for them.

  • Contacts: your people. Expands to All contacts, Lists, and Duplicates.
  • Companies: the organizations your contacts belong to.
  • Deals: your sales pipeline. Expands to Pipeline, Products, and Forecast.
  • Workflows: automate actions when things happen in your CRM.
  • Giving: donations, transactions, fundraising, and receipts, once Donor Management is turned on.
  • Reports: build and save reports across your CRM data.

Extensions: what unlocks Giving

Extensions are the relationship types you can run on top of Reach's Sales core. Open Settings, then Extensions, to see all four: Sales, Donor Management, Mentorship, and Memberships, each shown as a card with its status and the modules it unlocks.

  • Sales is included for every account. It has no switch, only an Included badge, and it's what unlocks Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Pipelines.
  • Donor Management is the one extension you actually turn on. Flip its switch to unlock Donations, Transactions, Fundraising, and Receipts, then follow the Charity details link that appears on its card to finish setup.
  • Mentorship has moved. Its card carries no switch: mentor and mentee programs run under the Mentorship product now, not in Reach.
  • Memberships is a Coming soon card. It has no switch yet.

Extensions live under Settings, which only an account owner or admin can open. Anyone else who reaches a settings link directly sees an admin-access notice instead of the page.

Access and seats

Reaching Reach takes two things: your workspace needs to be licensed for Reach, and you personally need a Reach seat. Both must be true; a licensed workspace with no seat assigned to you is not enough.

If your workspace has Reach but you don't have a seat, Reach shows the message "You don't have a Reach seat", with Manage workspace and Switch workspace buttons. There's nothing to buy on that screen: a workspace admin assigns you a seat from the Mercleo account, and the buttons take you to do that or to try a different workspace.
