Seats and overages
Your plan sets caps and included quotas per area. Two pages show them: Billing → Limits for what each plan allows, Billing → Usage for what you've actually used this period.
Seats vs. workspace membership
These are two different counts. Workspace membership, everyone listed on People, is free and uncapped. A seat is one member's access to one area, toggled on that member's People row, and it's what your plan actually limits and bills. A ten-person workspace where three people use Work and two use Marketing is using two seats, not ten, on each of those areas.
When you're at the seat limit
The People page shows a running "used / limit" count per area at the top. Once an area is full, its toggle disables for anyone not already assigned, with a note pointing at freeing a seat or upgrading. A member can also request a seat for themselves; owners and admins resolve pending requests from People → Requests, granting one assigns the seat and closes the request in the same step.
See what each plan allows
Billing → Limits lists one card per area you hold, showing its seat cap and any metered allotments (AI credits, included volume) or feature toggles that plan turns on. To raise a limit, change the plan on Overview, there's no separate limit-only purchase.
See what you've used
Billing → Usage shows this period's actual numbers against the included allotment, updated within a few minutes of activity. What's metered depends on which areas you hold, common ones include email sends and marketing contacts (Marketing), CRM records (Audience), editor hours (Work), employee records and applications received (People/HR) and pooled account-wide storage. Going over the included amount doesn't cut you off, it shows as overage, charged at the plan's per-unit rate and billed on your next invoice.
The fee on paid event tickets
If you sell paid tickets through Events, Mercleo can take a percentage of that revenue as a platform fee, deducted automatically at checkout rather than billed separately. Whether the fee applies depends on how your organization is set up to collect the money, connected under Payments in the sidebar:
- Bring your own Stripe account (a Standard connection): no Mercleo fee, on any plan.
- Let Mercleo host the connection for you (Express): the fee applies on lower tiers, and is waived once your Events plan reaches Pro.
The fee's existence is always disclosed at checkout; the exact rate is published on mercleo.com/pricing (opens in new tab) rather than repeated here.
