Who gets in is a setting. Visibility, enrolment mode and a deadline per course; then a record of how every learner got in, and how far they have got.
By request, without the inbox. Ask, decide, enrolled, all on the record.

Choose the door, per course. Two questions, answered separately.
Visibility and admission are separate settings: open, by request, or invisible outside the roster you enrol yourself.
- In the catalogue, or unlisted and enrolled by you alone
- Open self-enrolment, or visible but admitted by request
- An enrolment deadline that closes self-serve on time
- You can still enrol somebody after the deadline, on purpose
- Withdrawals kept on the record, never deleted
Watch completion happen. And trust what it says.
Each mark keeps its source, so “complete” is something you can verify, not just something the list says.

- Complete means every required lesson, not a percentage
- A finished course stays finished; edits never un-complete anyone
The request is closed and kept on the record. You can still enrol them yourself at any time: enrolling somebody yourself does not depend on the request.
Not by themselves: enrol-by closes the self-serve door on time. You can always enrol them by hand, which is deliberate: the deadline is yours, not the software’s.
No. Withdrawing closes the enrolment but keeps it, and re-enrolling reactivates the same record: lessons already completed are still completed.
No. Completion only ever moves forward. A course somebody finished stays finished, even if you extend it afterwards; the new material shows for current learners instead.
