CadreDirectory

One file per person, kept properly. The shape of the organization, every role somebody has held inside it, and the time they take off, on the record rather than in somebody’s memory.

Three parts of Directory. Each with a page of its own.

The shape you actually have. Not the one the software prefers.

Nobody’s shape gets flattened to fit a chart. Teams nest as deep as they go, and relationships that aren’t reporting lines stay recorded as themselves.

  • Teams nested as deeply as the place actually is
  • A lead and a colour on each, and an order you set
  • People in more than one team, because plenty of people are
  • Mentors, committees and dotted lines recorded as themselves
  • An org chart that shows where you are hiring

Everything in the org’s shape

A record that keeps its history. Under the team as it was named then.

Every title somebody has held, why it changed, and the team they held it in at the time, so a reorganization today can’t quietly rewrite what somebody’s job was three years ago.

  • Every title somebody has held, with why it changed
  • The team named as it was named at the time
  • Hired, promoted, transferred, retitled: told apart
  • A departure closes off their current role on their last day
  • Nobody leaves the organization still reading “Present”

Everything in the person’s record

And the time they take off. Requested, decided, and counted.

Self-service costs nothing

Every employee gets their profile, their documents and their own time-off requests without a paid seat. Seats are for the people running HR.

Documents, only if you say so

Each document on a person’s file is marked visible to them or not, so a contract and an internal note can live in the same place.

Fields you decide on

The base set ships; the ones your organization actually needs (shirt size, locker number, whatever it is) you add yourself.

Approvals with a reason

A decision on a time-off request records who made it and why, so “no” is never just a status change somebody has to chase.

Put the org on the record. The beta is open now.

Yes. Somebody can belong to as many teams as they actually do, because plenty of people genuinely sit in several: a facilities lead who is also on the health and safety committee is one person in two places, not two records.

Nothing moves. A position records the team as it was named at the time, so reorganizing today cannot rewrite what somebody’s role was three years ago.

Not yet. Today you get requests, approvals and per-person balances; a team-wide calendar with conflict highlights is a known gap rather than something we are claiming. The same is true of accrual rules, carryover and blackout dates: balances in v1 are simply accrued minus used.

Not as its own thing. Time off covers vacation, sick, personal and unpaid; a longer leave has no dedicated flow today, and we would rather say so than have you discover it at the point you need it.

No. Cadre holds records, hiring and time off. Payroll stays where it is.
